B002 New News Basket

The second finished piece made in the bakestry workshop I am going to. I painted it today with spray. I intend to give a layer of black shoe polish to the green basket to make it look cooler. Possibly I will do the same with this basket too. If I do that, I will update this picture.
This is sort of a papercraft too, because it is entirely made of paper. In basketry it is possible to use newspaper paper as raw material. Paper is cut in strips and then rolled. You use then the rolled paper in a similar way that when using willow fiber, for example. Biggest downside of this technique is that it takes too much time to roll the strips of paper.

Éste es la segunda pieza terminada en el taller de cestería al que estoy asistiendo. La pinté hoy con un bote de spray. Voy a darle una capa de betún de Judea a la cesta verde, posiblemente haga lo mismo con ésta. Si es así, actualizaré las fotos.
Esta cesta es un tipo de papercraft también, porque está hecha completamente de papel. En cestería, es posible usar papel de periódico como materia base. El papel es cortado en tiras y entonces enrollado. Entonces se usan las tiras enrolladas de similar manera que otro material de cestería, como el mimbre, por ejemplo. La mayor pega de esta técnica es que se va mucho tiempo en hacer las tiras de papel enrollado.
